Magic Tree House fun

Hi Kids,
Daniel Thompson and his mom stopped by the library this past Monday and found me trying to clean the place up! (It is almost clean.) They showed me a cool thing they found at Barnes and Noble this week--a Magic Tree House passport. Here is how it works--the store gives you a little booklet that contains stickers for all the Magic Tree House books. As you finish each one, you can add a sticker to your booklet until you've read every one of the books. This can be lots of fun. You could make your own sticker booklet or chart for any other series you might like to read if you can't get to Barnes and Noble this summer.

I am heading off on an adventure this weekend. I am going camping at the beach with my kids, my nieces and nephews, and some of my sisters. I will be interested to hear what my nieces are reading because they are in Kindergarten and 3rd grade and they LOVE books! I will let you know if I hear about anything great.

See you soon,
Ms. Paradis

Hi Ms.Paradis,
If you read 8 books you can fill out Barnes and Noble summer reading journal and bring it in they will give you a voucher for a free book. You can do this twice and get two free books. I got a free book there last summer. The summer reading journals are online at Barnes and Noble website under the children's section. Also if you go to New England Book Fair and sign up for their birthday club you will get a coupon on your birthday for five dollars to buy a book.

Erin

Hi Ivy,
You don't have to read magic tree house books to get the free book, it can be any 8 books.

Erin and Ivy--did you get any free books at Barnes and Noble yet? I am hoping to get there soon, but I don't think grown ups will be allowed to fill out summer reading journals!
Ivy--lots of kids just like the nonfiction Magic Tree House books. I understand entirely. Do you have a favorite topic? I wanted to read the one about rainforests.
